    • Remedial design for soil and groundwater contamination at the North Penn Area 1 NPL site for USACE Baltimore.
    • Worldwide UST and POL evaluations and Phase I/II assessments for the U.S. Department of State across South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
    • Environmental engineering and industrial hygiene support to Dulles International and Reagan National airports from 1999 through 2004.

  • Remediation

    Field execution of cleanup work: UST removal and replacement, contaminated soil disposal, pump and treat systems, hazardous and mixed waste handling, and asbestos-contaminated material removal.

    Representative Projects

    • Up to 90 quality assurance inspectors monitoring Gulf Coast debris operations after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, coordinating with USACE, parishes, and community representatives.
    • Libby Asbestos Superfund site remediation in Montana, with more than 100 residences completed plus landfill asbestos cell and soil disposal site operations.
    • DOE FUSRAP remedial action at the St. Louis Airport Site: excavation, rail transport, and off-site disposal of 600 cubic yards of radioactive contaminated soil.

    Representative Projects

    • Design, permitting, and owner's representative services for Cell 6, Phase 2 of the Quarantine Road Sanitary Landfill under RCRA Subtitle D.
    • Closure design for a 33-acre New Jersey landfill using soil-cement cap technology that allowed reuse as an intermodal container facility.
    • Environmental and solid waste management program for an industrial soil processing facility, covering characterization, NPDES storm water, ambient air, and worker exposure monitoring.

    • Field engineering, quality assurance, scheduling, and claims analysis on the $12 billion Central Artery/Tunnel project in Boston, with up to 23 on-site personnel from 1993 through 2006.
    • 24/7 construction inspection for the Pier A expansion at Baltimore-Washington International Airport, staffing up to five inspectors simultaneously.
    • Reconstruction of flood-damaged sections of the historic C&O Canal for the National Park Service using salvaged original materials and fabrication methods.

    • Over-water test borings to 160 feet with shear strength criteria, p-y curve development, and pile driveability analysis for the Upper Chesapeake Bay Range Lights.
    • Instrumentation and monitoring of a subway bridge at Washington National Airport using 6 inclinometers, 52 tilt plates, and 12 survey points during cut-ramp installation.

    Representative Projects

    • Environmental health and safety support for the DC Department of General Services Facilities Division and DC Public Schools, including indoor air quality assessments, occupational exposure evaluations, hazardous material management, remediation, flood mitigation, and noise assessments.
    • EHS program development and implementation for the DC Metropolitan Police Department, including quarterly shooting range lead reduction, lead-safe maintenance practices, regulated waste management, and awareness training.
    • On-call EHS and facility support for the DC Housing Authority across its residential portfolio, including vacant unit readiness, biohazard and mold response, environmental assessments, and oversight of corrective actions.
